Minor Skin Procedure

Minor Skin Procedure

Minor skin procedures are minimally invasive treatments performed by a general practitioner (GP) in a clinical setting.

We perform procedures under local anesthesia, including skin lesion excision and mole or skin tag removal. Our treatment room is fully equipped, with a practice nurse assisting during each procedure. All doctors will explain each step, provide post-care instructions, and discuss any follow-up appointments.

What it targets?

During your consultation, a doctor will assess your condition and recommend the best treatment. They will address any questions and offer personalised advice. If treatment is needed, the procedure will be performed in-clinic by our experienced general practitioners.

Pre and Post-Treatment Care

PRE-TREATMENT:

  • It’s recommended to bring a companion. Refrain from driving for the rest of the day, depending on the anesthetic used.

  • Medications: Inform your doctor if you take blood thinners (e.g., Warfarin, Apixaban, Aspirin).

  • Allergies: Notify your doctor of any allergies to medications, latex, or anesthesia.

  • Pacemaker: If you have a pacemaker, inform your doctor for necessary adjustments during cautery.

  • Hearing aids: Remove hearing aids during surgery to avoid interference with equipment.

  • Exercise: Avoid strenuous activities while stitches are in place, and potentially for two to four weeks after surgery.

  • Contact lenses: Remove lenses if surgery involves the eye area and bring a container for storage.

  • Consent form: You or a guardian will sign a consent form acknowledging the procedure and potential risks

POST-TREATMENT:
Your physician will provide post-procedure instructions. If needed, take pain relief tablets, but avoid aspirin or ibuprofen unless prescribed, as they can increase bleeding risk.
