Minor Skin Procedure

Minor Skin Procedure

Minor skin procedures are minimally invasive interventions that can be conducted by a general practitioner (GP) in a clinical setting.

The practice performs procedures that can be conducted under local anesthesia, including the excision of skin lesions, and mole and skin tag removal.

Our dedicated treatment room is equipped with modern facilities and sterile equipment, with a practice nurse assisting during each procedure.

All doctors are well-trained and will thoroughly explain each step of the procedure, including post-operative expectations, at-home care instructions, and any required follow-up appointments.

What it targets?

Your consultation for minor skin procedures will be conducted by a doctor who will evaluate your condition and recommend the most suitable treatment. They will address any questions you have about your skin condition and provide personalized advice. If treatment is deemed appropriate, the procedure can be performed in-clinic, which is administered by our highly-qualified and experienced general practitioners.

Pre and Post-Treatment Care

PRE-TREATMENT:

  • It is recommended to have a companion accompany you.
  • Depending on the local anesthetic dosage used during the procedure, refrain from driving for the remainder of the day.
  • Medications – Inform your physician if you take blood thinners such as Warfarin, Apixaban, Aspirin, or others.
  • Allergies – Notify your physician of any allergies to medications, latex, or local anesthesia.
  • Pacemaker – Inform your physician if you have a pacemaker. It does not prevent surgery, but instrument adjustments are needed for cautery.
  • Hearing aid – Hearing aids must be removed during surgery to prevent interference with cautery equipment. Communication will be ensured throughout.
  • Exercise – Avoid strenuous activities like tennis, football, swimming, or golf while stitches are in place. Post-surgery, exercise cessation may be required for two to four weeks in some cases.
  • Contact lens – Remove contact lenses if surgery involves the eye area. Bring a suitable container for storage.
  • Consent form – You or a parent/guardian (for minors) will sign a consent form confirming awareness of the procedure and potential complications.

POST-TREATMENT:
Your physician will provide written instructions after the procedure. If you experience any discomfort, you may take pain relief tablets. Avoid aspirin or Ibuprofen unless they are part of your regular medication to reduce the risk of bleeding.
